My Translation Background
A native U.S. English speaker, I have over 20 years cumulative experience translating from Spanish to English. I started my career working in a worker’s compensation and immigration law firm assisting Spanish-speaking clients. My next career move took me to the financial services industry, where I provided customer service to Spanish-speaking investors and worked on a team to review and edit a Spanish voice-response system. I also advanced my career here from an entry-level Associate to a Six-Sigma Project Manager before leaving the Corporate world for self-employment opportunities.
Then, in early 2009, I launched my translation services business on a full-time basis. I currently specialize in the medical, educational and government fields, translating a wide variety of documents including:
- Hand-written medical records
- Physician summaries
- Laboratory reports
- Progress notes
- Psychology reports
- Certificates (Death, Birth, Marriage)
- Educational and Academic documents (IEP’s, Transcripts, Diplomas)
- Government documents
I manage multiple project assignments concurrently and translate an average of 7,500-10,000 words per week. I use Wordfast Pro 5, MemoQ 2015, ABBY Fine Reader and all MS Office software applications to complete translations that mirror the source formatting as closely as possible. Of course, if there is a client-specific formatting request, I strictly adhere to those guidelines as well.
My Academic Experience
I hold a B.A. in Spanish from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and earned my Certification in Translation: Spanish to English from New York University in May 2012. I have also taken graduate-level project management courses at George Washington University and completed a semester-long immersion program in Seville, Spain.

I am an Active Member of the American Translators Association and a former President of the Delaware Valley Translators Association.
